IDEXX UK are an innovative diagnostics and technology company based in Wetherby working to provide better veterinary care and safer food and water for pets, people and livestock globally. With an expanding business and workload, planning permission has now been secured for increased car parking provision and new storage facilities on site with support from Preston based Chartered Town Planners De Pol and Transport Consultancy SCP, who have offices in Leeds and Manchester.
De Pol led the successful planning strategy to expand parking areas, erect a new storage building whilst protecting existing trees within the landscaped grounds of the laboratory. Crucial to overcoming the Council’s concerns was De Pol’s handling of planning policies and IDEXX’s agreement to a Travel Plan prepared by SCP which sets out how dependency on private car travel is to be reduced.
Karen Ivory, Property Manager of Idexx Laboratories said “De Pol and SCP were called in to help overcome a previous decision to refuse planning consent. Re-applying for consent after rejection can be problematic but the support of Depol and SCP has produced a positive result for us which now provides an excellent platform for our future growth aspirations”.
