Acting on behalf of local provider Trax Care, now part of C4C Care for Children, De Pol has secured planning permission for an equine and agricultural training centre near Weeton.
Trax Care offers young people a unique choice of bespoke educational and vocational courses at various training centres in Lancashire. De Pol were approached to secure planning permission for a new facility to provide training and education in areas such as animal husbandry, the use and maintenance of agricultural equipment and the keeping and riding of horses. We submitted a planning application for the facility incorporating a purpose designed building and stables in the countryside, together with relocated vehicular access.
As part of the application De Pol was able to demonstrate that the nature of the scheme was such that the facility could not reasonably be accommodated within the urban area and thus a countryside location was appropriate. We were also able to demonstrate that the scale and appearance of the development was necessary to accommodate the facility and was in keeping with the rural character of the area.
The approval allows Trax Academy to expand its existing offer and provide enhanced opportunities for young people. It also follows on from previous work De Pol has undertaken on behalf of Trax Academy, including acting in relation to their watersports facility in St Annes and motorsport complex at Preston docks.
