Our clients range from major development and regeneration companies to individual members of the public and we are involved in a wide variety of projects across the North West of England and the UK. We adapt our role to meet the needs of our clients, whether this is acting as lead consultant co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams, preparing stand-alone statements / assessments or simply providing planning advice.

Who we are

We are a family-run chartered town planning consultancy which for over three decades has helped clients both large and small.

De Pol Associates was originally founded by Marco De Pol in 1986, although the 9 strong team is now led by managing director Alexis De Pol. Our headquarters are in Farington near Preston, Lancashire and we operate nationally, but have a strong client base in the North West.

Our practice provides advice and services across all areas of planning from strategic land promotion and major development schemes to small domestic planning matters.

We guide our clients through the increasingly complex planning system – helping realise the development potential of their property and land, identifying solutions to their planning problems and helping them avoid the pitfalls that can hinder development.

What makes us different is our size and our personal approach. We have the in-house expertise and capacity/manpower to manage large and complex cases but we’re rightly proud of the personal attention, together with the frank and realistic advice, we’re able to give to all our clients.

Depending on what a client needs we can fully manage a planning project from start to finish, act as lead consultant co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams or provide stand-alone statements, assessments or planning advice.

Clients will benefit from the combined experience and input of the whole team, all working together to achieve the best results for our clients, with every project, large or small, having Director involvement.

Our approach is to work cooperatively with local planning authorities because this is often the best way to achieve our clients’ goals on time and to budget. However, we have an excellent track record of obtaining planning permission on appeal, including the award of costs against Councils who’ve acted unreasonably.
