De Pol has been instructed by the owners of Anchorwood Bank Retail Park, Barnstaple to assist in the relaxation of restrictions on goods which can be sold from the 7,000sqm Park.
The Park was originally approved subject to a condition which restricts the goods which can be sold to non-food only. This condition represents a significant barrier to securing retailers who include food as part of their retail offer.
De Pol Associates has prepared a Retail Impact Assessment, on behalf of the land owner, to expand the range of goods allowing some of the approved floorspace to be used for the sale of food. The Retail Assessment considered potential impact on Barnstaple town centre, and demonstrates that any impact would not be significantly adverse on the town centre and therefore the expansion of the range of goods should be considered acceptable.
The application is due for determination in mid-March.
