Project Description

De Pol secured outline planning permission for the erection of two detached houses in the South Ribble Green Belt, where there is a general presumption against inappropriate development at both national and local policy level.

The site comprised a number of former agricultural buildings and De Pol were able to secure permission for the redevelopment of the site on the basis that the proposals would not have a greater impact on the openness of the Green Belt, and the purpose of including land within it, than the existing development.

In their submissions, which also included input into the siting of the proposed dwellings and consideration of various technical matters, De Pol demonstrated to the Council that the proposals would comprise sustainable development.

Whilst there were neighbourhood objections the application ultimately received a recommendation for approval from Council officers and a positive decision by the members of the South Ribble Planning Committee.
